At this stage, tantrums are likely to be quite common in your little one.

If your kid stubbornly insists on buying something and starts acting difficult, ignore the tantrum and just buy the things you want and leave the store. Tell your child that it will be a good idea to make a list of the stuff he wants later and then the list can be taken out on his birthday.
However, if there is scope, this is also the best time to explain your child that what he is doing may not be the right thing to do. In most cases, kids go completely out of order when their demands are not met. But ignoring them may not be a solution all the time. Reason out, give alternatives or just move their attention towards something else that they would like to do, is also a plausible way of handling a child who is being stubborn. And, what works best is to have clear talk with your child about what he is entitled to get and not get through this shopping outing. This helps in prevailing sanity to some extent.
