At this point, you can teach your bundle of joy being responsible early on. Assign him age appropriate chores and by being consistent, affectionate and positive, he will do the chores. He feels so excited to help you and once done with the work, feels proud of his accomplishment.
Keep it simple. Putting toys in the box, books on the shelf, watering plants, putting his clothes in the laundry basket, assisting you in making simple meals are few of the chores where your toddler can surely help you with.
Praise your child’ s efforts and don’t look for perfection.
Use these opportunities to talk to him and build his language skills too. For instance, when he is watering the plants, talk to him about basics on plants, nature, etc.
Show your child how to do first and then let him try.
