You need to make an appointment with the respective RTO in Ahmedabad. Submit the required form and pay the fees for obtaining a duplicate DL. The duplicate driving licence will be sent to the registered postal address.
The Central Government has launched a platform for citizens to avail RTO services online through the Parivahan web portal. Visit the website to book a slot for your driving test and appear at the concerned RTO on the scheduled date and time.
The grace period for the renewal of DL is 30 days from the expiry date. It is always advisable to renew the DL ahead of its expiry date.
For a non-transport or a private vehicle, there is no need for a medical certificate if the applicant is less than 50 years of age. For those who are above 50 years, they need to submit a medical certificate through Form 1A. As for transport vehicles, all drivers must produce a medical certificate to obtain a driving licence.
You need to initiate the transfer of registration process within 30 days and you need to pay the road tax prescribed by the Gujarat RTO. You need to visit the respective RTO, submit documents that include the registration certificate of the car, vehicle insurance policy and emission test or Pollution Under Control Certificate (PUCC).
The No Objection Certificate (NOC) is not required while paying the road tax. However, if you are registering a vehicle in Gujarat which bears another State’s registration, then you need to submit the NOC from the other State RTO.
