What is the difference between Third-party and Comprehensive Insurance Policy?

Buying a Third-party Insurance is mandatory as per The Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. It covers only the damages caused to the third-party involved in an accident with your insured TVS Scooty.

A Comprehensive Insurance Policy will cover you against damages caused to your TVS Scooty along with the benefits of a Third-party Insurance Policy.

My TVS Scooty insurance policy has expired a few months back, is an inspection necessary for the new policy?

Yes, if there is a time gap between the expiry and the renewal of two-wheeler insurance policy, your TVS Scooty may require another round of inspection.

As a new owner, it’s your obligation to get the existing two-wheeler insurance transferred in your name within the specified period from the date of transfer of RC book. In case you have an old policy with accumulated NCB, it can be transferred by submitting a retention letter to the new insurer.
