  1. Check Vehicle Information via ACKO Website

    • Click on "Check vehicle details" at the top of your desktop screen
    • Type the vehicle registration number
    •  Proceed further and provide your mobile number
    • You will then be redirected to the ACKO app, where you can find the vehicle details completely
  2. Get Vehicle Details by Number Plate via ACKO App

    • Download the ACKO app on your mobile device.
    • Sign in with your mobile number or email.
    • Head over to the 'discover' section.
    • Tap on 'get vehicle info'
    • Type in the vehicle registration number.
    • Finally, you'll have access to the vehicle owner's details.
  3. Check Vehicle Owner Details by Number Plate via Parivahan Website

    • Visit the portal: Go to official Parivahan Sewa website or go directly to the VAHAN National Register e-Services page.
    • Access Informational Services: You will find the "Informational Services" menu on the homepage; click "Know Your Vehicle Details" from the dropdown.
    • Log In/Create Account: Logging in requires your mobile number and OTP. First-time users must register a user account.
    • Enter Vehicle Number: Provide the complete vehicle registration number (e.g., DL01AB1234) along with a captcha, then verify.
    • View Details: After clicking "Search Vehicle", you will be able to find a partially hidden owner's name, registration date, fuel type, vehicle category, and the remaining validity of the RC, insurance, and fitness certificates, etc.
  4. Check RTO Number Check Via mParivahan Mobile App

    • Download the App: Install NextGen mParivahan from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
    • Sign In/Create Account: Open the app and log in using your mobile number and an OTP.
    • Enter Vehicle Number: On the home screen, select the RC (Registration Certificate) tab and enter the full vehicle registration number (e.g., DL01XX0000) .
    • View Details: The app will display details such as:Owner Name (often partially masked for privacy).
    • Registering Authority (RTO name and location).
    • Vehicle Class and Make/Model.
    • Registration and Fitness Validity.
    • Insurance and Pollution (PUC) Status.
  5. Know Your Vehicle Details via SMS Service

    • Open your messaging app and compose a new SMS.
    • Type VAHAN <space> Vehicle Registration Number (e.g., VAHAN MH01AB1234).
    • Send the message to 7738299899.
    • Receive Details: You will receive a reply containing:Vehicle owner's name.
    • Vehicle make and model.
    • Registration date and RTO details.
    • RC (Registration Certificate) expiry date and insurance status.
  6. How to Check Vehicle Owner Details from the IIB Portal

    Checking for vehicle owner information through the Insurance Information Bureau (IIB) website is not possible anymore. Although this was possible in the past, this facility is no longer available now. For obtaining details about the vehicle, one may use the services of Parivahan Sewa or ACKO.

What Vehicle Details Can You Check Online?

You can find all the important details of the vehicle online through the Parivahan Sewa website or any other government websites by simply entering the registration number of your car. There are two types of information available that you will find on the Parivahan Sewa website: one is publicly visible information, and the other is masked information.

Vehicle Registration Number

Unique registration number assigned to the vehicle by the RTO.

Vehicle Make & Model

The exact vehicle variant as per the manufacturer.

Fuel Type

Type of fuel, such as Petrol, Diesel, EV, or CNG.

Vehicle Class

Classification of the vehicle, such as LMV, HMV, transport, or non-transport.

Registration Date

Date on which the vehicle was officially registered with the RTO.

RTO Details

The RTO with which the vehicle is registered.

RC Validity

Expiry date of the Registration Certificate, where applicable.

Fitness Certificate Validity

Expiry date of the vehicle fitness certificate, mainly for commercial vehicles.

Insurance Validity

Status and expiry date of the vehicle insurance policy.

PUC Validity
