Bihar’s traffic enforcement has rapidly transitioned to a digital ecosystem, streamlining how challans are issued and paid. The Bihar State Transport Department, in collaboration with the National Informatics Centre (NIC), manages the Integrated e Challan System, connecting 75 districts through automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras and mobile enforcement apps.
In 2024 alone, the Bihar Police issued over 16 lakh e-challans, collecting more than ₹58 crore in fines for violations such as riding without a helmet, over-speeding, and driving without valid documents.
Car and two-wheeler owners can now perform an online challan check directly on the Parivahan portal or the official Bihar Transport Department site, or on the ACKO website, avoiding in-person payments.
To pay a traffic challan for Bihar via the official Parivahan portal, follow these steps:

If you want to do a Bihar challan check or want to perform any other action related to your challan, then you can easily do it from the comfort of your home. Just open the ACKO app, enter the vehicle registration number, and you will get the challan details.
Through the instant notification feature, you will instantly be updated about any e-challan issued on your name through notifications.
Whether you want the status of paid or pending challans, you can track it on the go on ACKO app. All you have to do is enter your vehicle registration number on ACKO and track challan details.
Check your challan details every month and earn rewards for safe driving. Through the rewards, you can also save on your next insurance purchase.
An e-Challan Bihar is a digital fine generated for road-rule violations under the Motor Vehicles Act. The system automates ticket issuance via mobile devices or ANPR cameras, linking each notice to your vehicle ID in the NIC database. It allows quick e challan check by vehicle number and convenient digital payment options.
