Check UP Traffic Challan Via Official Parivahan Portal

To check your Uttar Pradesh (UP) traffic challan status via the official Parivahan portal, follow these steps: 
 

1 .Visit the official e-Challan portal: Go to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) official e-Challan Parivahan website.

2 .Navigate to "Check Challan Status": On the homepage, look for the "Check Online Services" tab in the menu and select "Check Challan Status" from the dropdown menu.

3 .Enter details: You can search for your challan using one of three options:

  • Vehicle Number: Enter your complete vehicle registration number (e.g., UP14AD1234) without any spaces. You might need to enter the last 5 digits of your chassis or engine number for verification.
  • Challan Number: Enter the unique challan number provided in your violation notice or SMS.
  • DL (Driving License) Number: Enter your driving license number.

4 .Enter the Captcha: Input the security code (captcha) displayed on the screen.

5 .Get details: Click on the "Get Detail" button to view a list of any pending or paid challans associated with the details you entered.

An e-challan in Uttar Pradesh is a digital traffic fine issued under the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act 2019. It’s automatically generated when a vehicle violates traffic rules, such as overspeeding, signal jumping, or missing pollution certificate checks. You will end up paying Rs. 1000 in case you are found driving without a seatbelt in UP.
