HSRP Number Plate Bangalore: Book and Apply HSRP Now

High Security Registration Plates (HSRPs) are now a mandatory safety and security standard for vehicles across India, and Bengaluru (Bangalore) reflects this nationwide move toward greater road safety and vehicle traceability. An HSRP is a tamper-proof number plate featuring advanced security features, including a unique laser-etched identification number, a chromium-based hologram, and non-removable snap locks to prevent duplication or tampering. In Karnataka, including Bangalore, the government has repeatedly extended deadlines for installing HSRPs on vehicles registered before April 1, 2019, in response to slow compliance, despite tens of thousands of vehicle owners still needing to retrofit their plates. 

As of March 31, 2025, only about 29% of such vehicles in the state had been fitted with an HSRP, with many owners in Bangalore still in the process of completing installation. The HSRP Karnataka initiative enhances security, reduces vehicle theft and fraud, and supports better road enforcement in one of India’s largest and busiest urban centres.
