Eligibility Criteria to Apply for a Driving Licence in Gurgaon

To become a licenced driver in Gurgaon, you must fulfil the following criteria:

  • To legally operate a two-wheeler with an engine less than 50 cc, you must be at least 16 years old.

  • To legally operate a two-wheeler with an engine larger than 50 cc or a four-wheeler, you must be at least 18 years old.

  • It is illegal to use a commercial vehicle if you are under the age of 20 The rules of the road must be known.

How to Apply for a Learner's Licence in Gurgaon?

Applying for a learner's licence in Gurgaon is fairly simple. You can apply for it both online and offline. You can refer to the steps for both methods below:

Online process: 

  • Anyone can download the forms necessary to complete the application on the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways website. 

  • Once downloaded, the applicants must fill out the forms and submit them with their documents. 

  • Once the payment has been made, applicants are accepted. 

  • Applicants must first select a date and time slot to appear at the RTO to take the Learner's Licence test. 

  • Once they have done so, they need to visit the nearest RTO on the day they have picked and take the exam. 

  • If the RTO clears the test, they'll issue the driver's licence on the same day.

Offline process:

  • Regular driving licence must be renewed every five years in Gurgaon or until the holder turns 50.

In Gurgaon, international driving permits (IDP) must be applied at the RTO with the required documents. The applicant must have a permanent DL to get an IDP, although no test is required.
