Your baby is gaining control of her body. She will now hold her head little steadier when you hold her upright. However, she still doesn’t have the hand-eye coordination to play with toys. Your baby’s gross motor skills will develop over time and many of her movements at this age will be reflexive.

    What can you do

Hold her in your arms and your baby may display a reflex called ‘Stepping Reflex’. It will allow her to take steps while she is in your arms, and her feet touch the floor. Typically, the stepping reflex will disappear after the age of 2 months. In its place, your baby will develop voluntary motor skills over the next few months that will enable her to walk.
