As your kid is watches trees and plants every day, she does think about how plants grow and from where they grow. To help answer her curious questions carry out this simple activity which can be done at home. This experiment is easy and helps foster her cognitive skills like thinking, memory and attention.
Requisites: A container, cotton and seeds
Steps:
1. Take a container and fill the same with cotton. Gather seeds that are readily available in the kitchen like pumpkin, beans, chillies or sunflower seeds. Ask your child to plant the seeds inside the cotton.
2. Ask your kid to keep the container filled with cotton and seeds near window it can get sunlight and stay warm. Please keep a check because excessive heat is harmful.
3. Keep the cotton wet by drenching it with water every day. Do not give excess water. It may harm the seeds and affect the germination process. Do it for 2-3 days.
4. Ask your kid to observe every day and count how many days have passed by, plant seeds grow and seedlings begin to shoot from the seeds.
This activity will enhance the observation, analytical and concentration skills of your child. This activity tshows her how plant life grows. Do try it at home.
