You need to renew the DL within the expiry date; however, there is a grace period of 30 days when you can renew the licence. If your driving licence has expired and gone past the grace period as well then you will have to pay the required penalties to renew the DL. However, you may be asked to take a driving test again if your DL has expired for more than 5 years.
A medical certificate is required for applicants who are more than 50 years of age. Also, all commercial driving licence applicants have to submit their medical certificate mandatorily.
You can apply for the international driving licence also known as International Driving Permit (IDP) at the local RTO. You need to pay the prescribed fee and clear the driving test before the RTO can grant the licence.
Your Learner’s Licence will be delivered to you on the same day upon passing the knowledge test conducted by the RTO.
