Want to learn a completely innovative and healthy recipe? Try this Cheesy Plate Idli recipe to tempt even the fussiest of little eaters. This dish is full of carbohydrates, calcium and protein.

2 cups idli rice, ½ cup urad dal, ½ cup grated cheese, 1/4 cup chopped onion, oil to grease, salt to taste
1. Wash and soak rice and urad dal separately for 4-5 hours. Drain and blend in a blender together with salt till smooth. Keep aside to ferment for 6-8 hours.
2. In a bowl, combine together cheese, salt and onion.
3. Pour a little of the batter in greased idli moulds. Place a small portion of cheese mixture in the centre. Cover with more batter.
4. Steam for 12-15 minutes. Serve hot with coconut chutney and sambar.
