For your child now, pulses should be an important part of his diet, as they are full of protein and nutrients. This Cholar Dal is a unique and tasty dal recipe that your child is sure to adore!

Split Bengal gram (chana dal) soaked 1¼ cups, turmeric powder ½ tsp, sugar 1 tsp, salt to taste, ghee 1 tbsp, fresh coconut cut into small pieces ½ cup, cinnamon 1 inch stick, cardamoms 4, cumin seeds 1 tsp, raisins 2 tsp, ginger paste 1 tsp, water 4 cups
1. Boil 4 cups water. Add chana dal, turmeric powder, sugar and salt. Cover and cook till the dal is cooked.
2. Heat ghee in another pan, add coconut pieces and fry till golden. Drain.
3. Add cinnamon, cardamoms, cumin seeds, and raisins to the ghee remaining in the pan and sauté.
4. Add chana dal and ginger paste and mix well. Cover and cook for 10-12 minutes or till the dal thickens. Add the fried coconut pieces, mix well and serve hot.
