Farsi puri is very popular Gujarati dish loved by many, and it is a special treat for everyone, especially during the festive seasons. This deep-fried dry snack has fans from almost all over the India, and you will understand why if you just try it once and serve it to your kiddo. Moreover, it is also rich in carbohydrates, sodium and potassium.
Contents
Ingredients: 1 cup plain flour, 2 tbsp semonila (also known as rava or suji), 1 tsp black pepper, 2 tbsp ghee, Oil for deep-frying, Salt to taste
Steps:
1) Take all the ingredients in a bowl and mix them well till it turn into stiff dough. You can also use water if needed.
2) Make little circles from the ready dough for the puris as much as of your desire and can store the leftover in the fridge.
3) If you find it difficult in picking up the puri then you can use the fork to pick it up and put them in the pan.
4) Heat the oil in the pan and when it is very hot put the puris one by one in the pan and deep fry them.
5) When the colour of the puri changes to brown turn it over to other side and takes it out after it turns brown from that side as well.
6) Drain the puris on the absorbent paper and serve them hot.
7) If you want to store them, let them cool down completely and store them in an air tight container.
It has a melt-in- the-mouth texture, which is because of the addition of semolina and ghee to the plain flour, and also a spicy flavour contributed by black pepper in it. Relish it as it is or with a cup of milk.
