Ragi happens to be rich in protein and other nutrients. It is often considered to be super cereal because of its high nutrient value. Let's see the recipe of the payasam with raagi, which we call Finger Millet Vermicelli Payasam.
Contents
1 tsp - ghee, 250 gm - raagi(finger millet), 500 ml - water, 1 litre - milk, 3-4 tbsp - jaggery
1. Heat ghee in a wide suacepan, and add the finger millets and roast them for around 5 mins in low flame.
2. Now add water and cook till the water is absorbed by the finger millet, then add milk and bring it to rolling boil and then cook on low flame for around 15 minutes.
3. Once the payasan begins to thicken then add jaggery and cook for another 5 minutes and then switch off the flame.
Your payasam is ready to serve. At time payasam tends to thicken you can then add some boiling water and adjust the consistency.
