Mitha Khechudi or Sweet Khichdi is a yummy dish that can certainly find its place in your regular meals. Made with rice and moong dal with a fragrance of nutmeg, sweetness of sugar and raisins and crunchiness of cashews, it is perfect to satiate your palate. It is rich in protein, carbohydrates, and antioxidants.

1 cup rice, 1/4 cup split yellow moong dal, 1 tbsp turmeric, 2 tbsp ghee, 1 tbsp sugar, salt, handful of cashews and raisins, 1 cardamom, 1 bay leaf, 1 cinnamon stick(small), ½ tsp nutmeg powder
1. Wash and soak yellow dal and rice for about half an hour.
2. In a pan heat ghee and roast cashews, raisins and spices in it.
3. Once done, add rice and dal mixture in pan and stir fry for 5 minutes on low flame.
4. To the rice mixture, add water, sugar, salt, turmeric powder, and nutmeg powder. Boil and simmer till the rice is done.
Serve the tasty Mitha Khechudi with mithi dal.
