Moong Dal Fry is a quick and easy recipe that goes perfectly will rice or roti. Moong dal is a high source of protein, fiber, antioxidants, and phytonutrients.

½ cup moong dal, ½ tsp. mustard seeds, ¼ tsp. cumin seeds, 10 curry leaves, ¼ tsp. red chilli flake, salt to taste, ¼ tsp. garlic paste,1 small onion, 2 tsp. ghee or oil, ¼ tsp. turmeric powder. 1 tsp. coriander leaves, water as needed
1. Wash and soak dal for 10 minutes and cook with turmeric and ¼ tsp. oil in a pot or a pressure cooker until the dal is soft.
2. Add ghee to a hot pan; allow mustard and cumin to crackle. Add curry leaves, onion, garlic paste and sauté until the raw smell of garlic goes off.
3. Add salt, red chilli flake and pour dal and water, stir and cook till begins to boil.
4. Add coriander leaves, stir and switch off.
You can serve your child just a bowl of dal fry or mix it in plain rice or side dish for rotis.
