This is a unique, highly nutritious and comforting recipe. Moong dal contains almost every nutrition in it namely water, protein, carbohydrates, sugars, iron, phosphorous, sodium, vitamins and Riboflavin.It helps the intestine to cope to solids by enhancing the process of digestion.

Contents
1 cup moong dal/green gram (soaked overnight),1 tbsp coriander leaves finely chopped, 6 -7 curry leaves, 1 tbsp powdered jaggery, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, salt- to taste, 1 tsp ginger and green chili paste, 2 tsp oil, 5 whole black pepper, 1 cinnamon half inch stick, 2 cloves, 1/4 tsp cumin seeds, 1/4 tsp mustard seeds, 1 pinch asafoetida, 1 tbsp lemon juice.
1. Drain the soaked beans and cook in an open vessel with 4-5 cups of water. Make sure the beans gets cooked but it should not be mushy.
2. Drain the water and keep aside.
3. Take a pan and heat oil and splutter asafoetida, mustard and cumin seeds. Add cloves, cinnamon, black pepper and curry leaves.
4. Add in ginger and green chilli paste and saute for a minute. Now add the drained water and keep on boiling.
5. Once the soup starts boiling and salt and turmeric powder and continue boiling it.
6. Now add jaggery and boil it till the jaggery melts down. Finally add lemon juice.
Serve it hot and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
