With left over rice, you can prepare quick and tasty rice patties. Rice is rich in carbohydrates. Flavoured with onion and using besan, which has protein as a binding agent, the rice patties taste yummy and your kiddo would totally love it!

1 cup cooked rice, 1 onion, 3 tablespoons of besan, salt as per taste, oil for shallow frying, 1 tbsp water
1. In a mixing bowl, take cooked rice. If the rice is very dry you can add little water. Mash it well.
2. Add besan, chopped onion, and salt.
3. Mix well and make a dough.
4. Make equal sized shape balls of the dough and shape each one in the form of a cutlet/tikki/patties.
5. Add 1 tsp oil in a pan. Once warm, shallow fry the rice patties on medium flame till both sides turn golden brown.
Yummy and hot rice patties are ready. Serve it with green chutney or tomato sauce. Enjoy!
