A simple, one pot and highly nutritious meal is 'Channa Khichdi.' The main ingredient used in this recipe is chana beans. Chana is a good source of protein. Along with rice, which is rich in carbohydrates and adding tomatoes, you can make it even more wholesome. The ingredients used are easy to digest.

Rice-1 cup, oil-1 tsb, tomatoes-1 small, chana-½ cup, water-3 cup, salt-to taste and green chillies-2
1. Wash the chana and rice well. Soak the rice and chana for atleast 4 hours. Keep it aside.
2. In a pressure cooker, add 1 tsp oil. Add chopped green chillies and tomatoes. Sauté for a minute.
3. Add the soaked rice and chanas. Mix well and add salt.
4. Add 1 cup water. Cover with cooker lid and pressure cook till 3 whistles. Switch off the flame.
Delicious Chana Khichdi is ready. The khichdi should be in semi liquid state.
