Apples are an excellent source of iron and vitamins. So here is a satisfying recipe to eat apples.
For the pie crust: 1½ cup flour, ¼ cup oil, ⅓ cup water, ½ tsp salt
For the apple filling: 2 apples, ¼ tsp cinnamon powder, 2 tbsp sugar, a few dots of butter, 2 tsp of milk
1. Mix flour, salt, and oil with your fingers evenly to get a breadcrumb consistency. Add water and form a dough.
2. Peel, core and slice the apples and sprinkle them with cinnamon powder and sugar. Mix.
3. Divide the dough into 2 balls.
4. Roll out the dough into 2 circles. Place one circle gently on a greased pan and press it towards the bottom and the edges.
5. Arrange the apple slices with the filling evenly on the bottom pie crust and top them with dots of butter.
6. Cover the pan with another rolled pie crust and brush with milk.
7. Bake the apple pie in a pre heated oven at 180 degrees C for 50-60 mins or till the crust has become golden and crisp. Slice and serve.
