Green Moong Beans are rich in protein, dietary fibre, vitamin B and minerals like Potassium and magnesium. Along with rice which is a good source of carbohydrates, you can prepare tasty crisp Pesarattu Dosa. The batter can be flavoured with the goodness of onion, ginger and cumin. Adding grated carrot, provides the valuable vitamin A. This Pesarattu Dosa Recipe comes very handy whenever your child feels hungry. This Dosa does not require fermentation and hence can be prepared instantly once the batter is ready.
2 cups Green Moong Beans, ½ cup rice, 1 onion, 1 ginger, 1 tsp cumin, 1 carrot, salt as per taste, 3 tsp oil
1. Wash and soak the green moong beans and rice together for 6-8 hrs. or overnight.
2. Grind them along with cumin and ginger to a smooth batter.
3. Add salt to the batter and mix well.
4. Grate the carrot and finely chop the ginger and onion.
5. On a hot tawa, pour a ladle of batter and spread it like a dosa.
6. On top of the dosa, sprinkle grated carrot and onion. Drizzle oil on top and sides
7. Once one side of the dosa turns golden brown and crisp, flip and cook on the other side too.
8. Yummy, crisp and hot Pesarattu Dosa is ready for your child to relish in breakfast or as a perfect evening snack.
Serve with chutney.
