Your Baby Loves Bath Time At This Stage

Team AckoFeb 8, 2024

Your baby is getting accustomed to a lot of new things, and now your baby loves bathing. Bathing your newborn could be a task or a pleasure and this purely depends on how your little one is reacting. Some babies love to get soaked while others scream their lungs out till their bathing gets completed. Either way, your little one requires a bath despite the fragrant baby smell from them.

Your baby loves to bathe: What you need to know

If your little one is just about a week or maximum a month old, it is best to go for a sponge bath. Your baby can be massaged gently with unscented vegetable oil and then use a warm, damp cloth to wipe their body, armpits, diaper area, and face.

Dab with a dry cloth to make sure that there is no moisture left on the skin. Your newborn should be given a sponge bath until their umbilical cord stump falls off and heals. Once your baby is ready for bathing after the umbilical area heals, prepare a tub full of warm water. Use your elbow to test the temperature of the water. Make sure that the water is lukewarm and not very hot or cold. Use soap or body wash as suggested by your doctor. You may realise that your baby loves bath but cries after it, this is an indication of your baby feeling cold after the activity.

Keep your entire baby’s stuff ready such as clothes, diapers, cream, towels before bathing. Pat your little one completely dry after bathing and dress them. You may notice your baby loves bath and now hates it all of a sudden. Give your child some more time to get adjusted to it, don't worry it is just a phase.
