Requisites: Heavy books- 4, Glue/transparent tape, File- 1, Herbarium sheets or Drawing paper – 4to6, Scissors, Some old news paper, Small basket-1

Steps:

1. Collect some different colored flowers and different sized leaves from your backyard or a park.

2. Clean the roots with water and leave it for drying.

3. Fold the newspaper and place one flower or one plant between the two layers of newspaper. When you are pressing the plant, make sure that it looks attractive and the main features of the plant is clearly visible.

4. Place a heavy book on it. Set the rest of the plant, leaf and flowers in the same manner. It will take one or two weeks for the plant to dry completely. Once it is dried fully, hold it gently and place it on the herbarium sheet and stick it with glue or tape.

5. Make a small note on the sheets- date and place from where you found it.

6. Observe small veins of leaves having different pattern arrangements.

Tell your kid about plants and it's parts, some basic plant type which blooms in different seasons. Surely your little one will love this nature science activity.
