Make a Newspaper Hat

This activity will teach your kid how to customize hand-made hats. This will bring out your child's creativity and imaginative skills.

Planning for Your Child’s Financial Security

Requisites: Paper (Size of paper required will depend on size of person’s head), tracing paper, sealing tape, glue and embellishments to decorate.

Steps:

1. Fold the paper into a half.

2. Fold one top corner down to the center of the paper.

3. Fold the other top corner down. A diagonal crease is created on both sides of the paper.

4. Fold up the bottom edge of the paper.

5. Turn over the paper and fold the bottom edge of the other side of the paper.

6. Fold the outside edges and seal them with a tape.

7. Decorate your hat with embellishments or paper designs.

8. Trace the design on tracing paper, cut it, and stick to your hat with glue.

9. Instead of folding the edges of the paper and sealing them with tape, the bottom of the hat can be created separately and stuck to the body of the hat as depicted in the pictures. In that case, steps 4 and 5 are redundant. Cut out the edges of the paper after step 3. Create the bottom part separately with paper and stick it to the body of the hat.

Your customized hat is ready! Your kid will enjoy this activity as he will try and make hats for each family member.
