Weave A Heart Mobile To Adorn The Nursery Wall

Decorating the nursery is always fun and if you could get your kid involved in preparing a décor, could there be anything better? Here is a simple room décor you and kid can together make in a jiffy.

Requisites: Pieces of cardboard (you could even use an old cereal carton), Balls of yarn in colors of your choice, Paint (optional), Tape, Scissors.

Steps:

1. Cut out hearts of different sizes from the cardboard. (if not a heart, you could cut out a design of your choice).

2. Cut out a smaller heart at the center of each piece to create a heart frame on which you can begin to weave.

3. You could ask your kid to paint the cardboard frame to add a little personal touch to it.

4. Take out a long piece of yarn and stick one end of the yarn at the back of the heart frame with the tape. Insert the other end and take it out through the other side. Continue weaving this way till the full frame is covered in the yarn.

5. Once your kid gets the hang of it, let him weave the other hearts in yarns of his choice. Once he finishes, stick the end of the yarn securely to the back of the frame.

6. Once all the frames are woven, trim any protruding loose ends of the yarn.

7. Arrange the hearts vertically and use a single long piece of yarn to use a firm tape to make a heart mobile.

8. Voila! You have a beautiful piece of décor handcrafted by your kid for his room.

This heart mobile is a great way to teach your kid to recycle. You don’t have to throw out your old cardboard anymore. In the end, you have a beautiful mobile and a happy entertained kid!
