When a child is unable to accomplish a task, as parents you might feel like jumping and doing that bit for him. But, that may not be the right step towards his well being. Supporting and doing is different.
Give your child the support and encouragement that he needs to complete a task. But don’t go on to do it on his behalf. This will not help him in any which way. What you typically need is to do is to stand by him and guide, and then allow him do the task. This is important from the point of confidence building and self reliance. Help him with everything, but let your child finish the task.
