ABHA stands for Ayushman Bharat Health Account and is part of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). It is a digital health ID with a unique 14-digit number that helps identify and verify a person, and link their medical records across healthcare providers such as hospitals, clinics, and diagnostic labs, only with their consent.
The ABHA Card was launched on September 27, 2021, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is free, and any Indian citizen who wants to be part of ABDM can create an ABHA ID. With this ID, you can store your medical records in one place and access them anytime.
You can apply for an ABHA card online for free. The process is quick and simple.
Open the ACKO app and go to your profile
Scroll down and tap Create ABHA Card under Hospitalisation and Emergency Readiness
Select a member: Self, Spouse, Father, Mother, or Child
Enter the Aadhaar number and verify using the OTP sent to your registered mobile number
Confirm the Aadhaar details and tap Get ABHA Card
Repeat these steps to create ABHA IDs for other family members.
Use the ABHA widget to start the process.
Enter your Aadhaar number and mobile number, then click on “Create ABHA.”

To deactivate or delete your ABHA ID: Log in to abdm.gov.in, go to Settings, and select the option to deactivate or permanently delete your account. This will unlink all associated health records.
