Ever participated in a writing competition? Writing creatively and neatly is itself an art and one should develop a passion for it. Here is an activity for young minds to develop an interest in writing, which also helps in improving hand writing and fine motor skills.

Steps:
1. Give a sheet of paper to the child and give a topic of her personal interest and age.
2. Ask the child to write few things about the given topic. You can give clue with word and phrases to build up on.
3. Set a time to finish and supervise. Make it a fun weekend with a writing competition for all the children of your locality. You will be amazed at their imagination in writing.
Writing helps the child to improve hand writing, learn facts and improve the strength in their fingers with a good grip to hold.
