Farm Fresh Porridge

Fresh Farm Porridge is a savory breakfast dish which is rich in fibre and a welcome change from suji or oats upma. It can also be given as a wholesome one pot vegetable dish and you may put as many vegetables as you like.

    Ingredients to make Farm Fresh Porridge:

    ½ cup daliya, ½ cup chopped vegetables (onion, tomato, potato, carrot, green peas), ginger paste 1 tsp, cumin seeds 1 tsp, ghee 2 tbsp, water and salt as per need

    Steps to make Farm Fresh Porridge:

    1. Dry roast dalia till you start getting an aroma. Keep it aside to cool.

    2. In a skillet, add some ghee, cumin seeds and allow it to splutter.

    3. When they start crackling add the garlic paste and saute it.

    4. Add the mentioned veggies, and salt and saute it and cook covered for few minutes. Add 2 cups of water and let it heat.

    5. Gradually add dalia stirring continuously to avoid lumps.

    6. Cook on simmer while stirring it in between.

    7. You may add more water if need be. Turn off the heat when water is absorbed and keep covered for few minutes.

    Serve warm. Add some ghee or butter on top to enrich the taste and nutrients.
