This one is a must-have from a list of Tripuri cakes. Below is an interesting recipe of a cake version. Guria rice is gut-friendly, protein- rich and thus, quite healthy.

1 cup guria rice washed and soaked for 4-5 hours with enough water, 2 tsp. finely chopped ginger pieces, 1 onion cut into circles, 2 tsp. grated coconut, 2 tbsp. ghee, ½ tsp. cardamom powder, salt to taste
1. Combine soaked Guria rice, chopped ginger, onion, grated coconut, salt and mix thoroughly. Pour the ghee on it and mix well.
2. Heat water to half the level in a idli pan and transfer the mixed rice to a idli plate and place only one plate at the top of the pan and seal the lid tightly.
3. Keep boiling for an hour or till the rice becomes tender.
Serve it hot and relish it.
