Baghara Pitha is thick, spicy, Orissa style utthapam made from urad dal and rice flour. It is easy to digest and serves good taste.

Ingredients to make Baghara Pitha:
1 cup urad dal, oil, ½ tsp mustard seeds, a pinch of hing, a pinch of turmeric powder, ½ tsp ginger, 1 string of curry leaves, 2-3 green chilies, 1 large onion chopped, 1 large tomato chopped, ½ cup rice flour, salt to taste
Steps to make Baghara Pitha:
1. Wash and soak urad dal over night. Next morning, wash it again and grind it to a smooth paste. Leave it for fermentation.
2. Heat oil in a pan; add mustard seeds, curry leaves, hing, and green chilies. Saute it for a minute. Now add chopped onion and grated ginger. Saute it well.
3. Now add chopped tomatoes, salt, and turmeric. Stir well.
4. Add rice flour to the fermented dal and mix well. Now add this onion tomato mixture to the batter.
5. Heat dosa pan and pour a ladle full of batter and spread it in circular motion. Cover and let it cook.
6. Flip it to cook the other side.
Serve hot with chutney.
