The idea of making a cabbage pie may seem bit weird but you would really enjoy it because it is simply scrumptious when it is baked. Cabbage has a good Thiamine, Niacin, Vitamin B6, folate and manganese and a very good source of dietary fiber, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin K and potassium, phosphorus.

1 cup wheat flour, 2 tbsp butter, 1 cup thinly sliced green cabbage, 2 tsp ghee, ¼ cup bread crumbs, 2 garlic cloves finely minced, 1 medium sized onion finely chopped, salt and pepper to taste.
1. Sift flour and salt and knead the flour using 1 tbsp butter and water.
2. Wrap the dough and refrigerate for 15 minutes. Preheat oven to 400℉.
3. In a pan sauté onions in butter for 2 minutes, add minced garlic and sauté for 2 minutes add cabbage.
4. When the cabbage begins to soften up, add salt and pepper and continue stirring until the cabbage is cooked for 12-15 minutes.
5. Make a flour paste by mixing 1 tsp. flour with 1 ½ tsp water. Meanwhile, divide the dough into 2 equal parts and roll into thin rotis.
6. Keep the cabbage filling in the pie shell and sprinkle bread crumbs over the cabbage filling and cover the other roti on top of it sealing all the sides with flour paste and prick top with a fork.
7. Bake for 30-40 minutes or until the top is golden. Allow it to cool for 15 minutes before slicing.
Bake the pie at home today and delight everyone.
