Besan Bread Toast, also known as Bread Pakoda is a delicious recipe, which is loved by all. It is easy to make and is healthy too. Besan includes high protein content and can be easily consumed by vegetarians to fulfill their protein needs. It is rich in iron and also helps in strengthening the bones.

2 slices of bread, 5 tbsp. gram flour, 2 tbsp. finely chopped onions, 2 tbsp. finely chopped tomatoes, 3 tbsp. water(use more if needed), few finely chopped coriander leaves, salt as needed, ¼ tsp red chilli powder, a pinch of turmeric powder, 1.5 tbsp. oil for frying
1. Make the batter by mixing gram flour, onions, tomatoes and dry spices along with water.
2. Beat the water well with a spoon.
3. Cut the bread slices into halves.
4. Heat a pan (tawa) and spread the oil evenly. When the pan is hot enough, dip each bread slice in the batter on one side. Place them on the hot griddle.
5. Toast it until the bread comes off from the pan. Sprinkle some oil on the sides of the bread.
6. Flip it and now apply the mixture on the other side of the bread with the help of a spoon.
7. Cook on both the sides on a low to medium heat until cooked and golden.
Serve the Bread Pakoda with ketchup or coriander chutney.
