    Ingredients to make Dal Makhani Bukhara:

    2 cups black lentils/whole urad dal, 2 onions medium size, 3 cloves garlic, 1 inch piece ginger, 4 tomatoes large size, 2 green chiles, 1 tsp red chili powder, ½ tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, 1.5 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp cinnamon powder, 1 tsp cumin seeds, ½ cup fresh cream, 2 tbsp oil, 3 tbsp butter

    Steps to make Dal Makhani Bukhara:

    1. Soak the dal in enough water overnight for about 8 hours. Drain it later and add drained lentils in the pressure cooker with little salt and 3-4 cups of water.

    2. Pressure cook the dal for 4-5 whistles.

    3. Grind onion and garlic cloves to make a paste. Similarly grind tomatoes, green chilies and ginger piece to make tomato paste.

    4. Heat oil in a wok and add cumin seeds. Let it splutter and then add onion paste. Saute the mixture till it turns golden brown. Add all the spices and sauté again for a minute.

    5. Add tomato puree and roast till it start leaving oil.

    6. Add cooked dal into it with 2.5 cups of water. Let it cook on the low flame for 50-55 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    7. Now add cream and butter to it and again cover the lid and let it cook for 25-30 more minute and then switch off the heat.

    Serve it hot with naan or jeera rice.
