Pakoras are usually made in North Indian households as a snack item. Gobi pakora is the perfect snack as it is absolutely delicious and offers the nutritional benefits of cauliflower. Cauliflowers are rich in potassium, dietary fibre, protein, Vitamin C, calcium, iron, Vitamin B6 and magnesium.

Ingredients: 1 medium sized cauliflower, 2 cups besan, ½ tbsp. ginger garlic paste, ½ tsp carom seeds, ½ tsp red chilli powder, ¼ tsp garam masala powder, a pinch of hing, a pinch of turmeric powder, a pinch of baking soda, water, oil, salt, 1 tsp chaat masala, ½ tsp. lemon juice, chopped coriander leaves.
Steps:
1. Chop the cauliflower into medium sized florets and blanch them in hot water for 10-12 minutes.
2. Drain the florets and mix them with ginger garlic paste, carom seeds, red chilli powder, garam masala and turmeric powder.
3. In another bowl, prepare a batter with besan, hing, baking soda, salt and water.
4. Heat oil in a kadhai for deep frying. Dip each floret in the besan batter and drop into the hot oil.
5. Deep fry and scoop out.
Healthy, nutritious and absolutely delightful, these gobi pakoras are the perfect snack for a chilly evening. Serve these pakoras with coriander chutney or tomato ketchup. So get prepping right now to treat this delicious snack!
