Halwa Poori is a delicious and healthy sweet as it’s made from sources of iron and protein. It’s a dish for keeps. You will definitely enjoy it. It’s easy to make and doesn’t require much ingredients.

¾ cup powdered jaggery, ½ cup channa dal, water, ghee, 1 cup wheat flour, oil
1. Boil channa dal in cooker. Pressure cook for 6 whistles.
2. Mash the dal well.
3. Boil jaggery in hot water and strain the syrup.
4. Add the mashed dal to the jaggery and cook well till it gets firm.
5. Make small balls from the dough.
6. In a bowl, add a cup of wheat flour. Add water, knead well to form a firm dough
7. Make small equal size balls from the dough.
8. Roll it flat to small circle.
9. Place the jaggery ball at the centre and fold along the edges.
10. Seal the edges gently with your fingers.
11. Heat oil in a pan and fry the stuffed halwa pooris till golden brown.
Serve the pooris hot.
