Hara Bhara Kababs

This kabab is a quick dish that everyone enjoys eating. It contains vitamins, potassium, and proteins. It is a perfect hunger-savior or it can be served as a side dish for your meals.

    Ingredients to make Hara Bhara Kababs:

    300 grams(two medium) potatoes, 1 cup green peas, 120 grams spinach (or palak 1 medium-size bunch), 3 tbsp. chickpea flour (or besan, can replace with bread crumbs), ¼ cup bread crumbs (optional, use if dough not stiff), salt as needed, 2 to 3 tsp oil for frying

    Steps to make Hara Bhara Kababs:

    1. Boil potatoes until just cooked. Make sure they are firm and not mushy.

    2. Dry roast chickpea flour till it turns aromatic. Set this aside.

    3. Saute ginger garlic paste(if necessary) in oil till the raw smell is gone. Add peas. Then stir fry until peas are cooked. You can also saute palak now until it wilts off.

    4. Saute the salt. Cool completely.

    5. If you haven't sauteed the palak then you can blanch it. Blanch the palak in 2 cups of hot water. Drain off completely. Make sure there is no water left otherwise the kabab will turn soft.

    6. Blend together peas mixture and spinach to a smooth paste.

    7. Mash the potatoes and add the ground paste. Next mix the besan to make a uniform non-sticky dough.

    8.. If the dough turns sticky, then add bread crumbs to absorb excess moisture.

    9. Make patties and fry on hot tawa till golden.

    10. Serve Hara Bhara Kabab with ketchup or chutney.

    Hara Bhara Kabab is ready to eat in no time! This dish is not only tasty but healthy too. Serve it warm or at room temperature.
