When it comes to preparing healthy meals, steamed foods are the best option as they use minimal oil. These Idli Sandwiches are full of carbohydrates as well as lots of vitamins and minerals from all the veggies used to make the stuffing.

Rice 3 cups, Urad dal 1 cup, carrot grated cup, cabbage chopped ½ cup, ginger-garlic paste ½ tsp, oil for greasing, salt to taste
1. Wash and soak rice and Urad dal separately for four hours. Drain and grind dal to fine paste. Grind the rice to a coarse paste using a little water.
2. Mix both pastes together with help of sufficient water to get a batter. Add 1 teaspoon of salt and let the mixture sit in a warm place overnight to ferment.
3. Mix the rest of the ingredients together. Fill 1 tablespoon idli batter in a greased Idli mold, add the vegetable mixture on it and again put some idli batter on top.
4. Steam the idlis for 10-15 minutes. Serve hot with chutney.
