This recipe is a traditional preparation from Kerala made with some of the healthiest ingredients. This dish is filling and packed with nutrients.

Ingredients to make Kai Kutan:
1 cup raw banana roundels, ½ cup freshly Grated coconut, ½ tsp. ginger paste, 1 tsp. green chilli paste, ¼ tsp. turmeric powder, salt to taste, 2 tsp. oil, 1 tsp. cumin seeds, 2 dry Kashmiri red chillies cut into 2 halves, 6-7 curry leaves, ¼ cup whisked thick curds
Steps to make Kai Kutan:
1. In a mixer jar, combine grated coconut, ginger and chilli paste and blend to a smooth paste using water.
2. Heat ½ cup water in a thick bottomed pan and add raw banana roundels, turmeric and salt, cover and cook on a medium flame for 4 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
3. Add the ground paste and mix well and cook on a medium flame for another 2 minutes and switch off the flame.
4. Heat oil in a tempering pan and splutter cumin seeds and then add curry leaves and the red chillies and sauté for few seconds and pour the tempering on the banana mixture and mix gently. When it is bit cooled add the curd and mix gently.
Serve this with hot steam rice.
