You can prepare a crispy, delicious, and nutritious side dish, Kalara Chana Bhaja, where the core ingredient kalara, is rich in nutrients like vitamin C, iron, magnesium, and dietary fibre. It is used and dipped in rice batter and fried till crisp and golden brown.

3-4 bitter gourd, 1 tbsp rasi (sesame seeds: Til) ,2 tsp lanka gunda (chili powder), ½ cup arua chaula (rice) refine tela (refined oil) required for frying, luna (salt) as required
1. Wash and soak the rice for 1 hour. Drain the water and grind to a fine paste. The consistency should be little thick.
2. Cut the bitter gourd into roundels.
3. Add til and chilli powder to the batter.
4. Dip the bitter gourd roundels in the batter and deep fry till they turn crisp golden brown.
Yummy Kalara Chana Bhaja is ready to be relished during meal time. Serve with rice or phulkas. Enjoy!
