    Ingredients to make Malai Barfi:

    2 cups crumbled mava (khoya), 1 tbsp. ghee, ¼ cup milk, 1/8 tsp. alum (phitkari) powder, ½ cup sugar

    Steps to make Malai Barfi:

    1. Grease a square tray and keep aside.

    2. Heat ghee in a heavy bottomed pan and add the mava and milk and mix well and cook on a medium flame for 5 minutes, stirring continuously.

    3. Add the alum powder, mix well, and cook for 3-4 minutes while stirring constantly. Add the sugar, mix well to avoid lumps and cook for another 4 minutes while taking care to stir continuously.

    4. Transfer the mava mixture on the grease tray and spread them evenly and cover it and set aside for a day.

    5. Divide them into equal portions and roll it tightly in a butter paper. Press gently and refrigerate for half an hour.

    Relish it.
