    Ingredients to make Mohan Thaal:

    2 cups besan, 3 tbsp ghee, 3 tbsp milk, 1 cup melted ghee, 1.5 cup sugar, 1/4 tsp nutmeg powder, 1/4 tsp cardamom powder, handful of chopped alomnds and pistachios

    Steps to make Mohan Thaal:

    1. Combine the besan, 3 tbsp ghee and milk nd mix well. Mash properly to break any lumps. Cover and keep aside.

    2. Now break the lumps using your fingertips, and seive the mixture.

    3. Heat the ghee in a skillet. Add the seived besan mixture and cook on a medium flame till the mixture turns brown in colour while stirring continuously.

    4. Remove from flame and keep aside to cool down.

    5. Prepare sugar syrup by mixing sugar in enough water. Mix well and cook on high flame for 2 minutes.

    6. Add 2 tbsp milk, mix well and lower the flame. Remove the dirt that floats on the sugar mixture. Prepare sugar syrup of 1.5 string consistency.

    7. Add the nutmeg powder, cardamom powder and sugar syrup to the prepared besan mixture. Mix well and stir continuously. Let the mixture cools.

    8. Add the remaining 3 tbsp milk and mix well. Grease a flat thali.

    9. Spread the mixture evenly in a thali. Sprinkle pistachios and almonds. Keep it aside to cool completely.

    Cut the pieces into desired shape and size and serve.
