White Button Mushrooms are an abundant source of protein, dietary fibre, vitamin C, D and minerals like potassium, iron. Along with rice, which has carbohydrates, you can prepare tasty mushroom mashed rice. Flavour this rice with soy sauce, black pepper and garlic. This rice preparation is ideal and a perfect food for meal time.

1 cup basmati rice, ½ cup white button mushroom, 1-2 garlic cloves, ¼ cup celery, ¼ cup spring onion, 1 tsp soy sauce, 1 tsp oil, 1 tsp black pepper, salt as required, 1.5 cup water
1. Wash the basmati rice and soak the rice for 15 minutes.
2. In a pressure pan, add oil. Once the oil is warm, add the finely chopped garlic, celery and spring onion. Saute for 3-4 minutes.
3. Add the chopped white button mushrooms and cook for 2-3 minutes on medium flame. Add the black pepper and salt.
4. Add the soaked rice and saute for 2-3 minutes.
5. Add water and pressure cook the rice for 3 whistles to get a mashed like consistency of rice.
6. Once the pressure settles down, add the soy sauce and give it a good stir.
Mushroom Mashed Rice is ready to enjoy!
