Sana Thongba is another gem of a dish from the north east. It’s simple to make and satisfying at the same time. Cottage cheese, also known as paneer, is cooked in milk resulting in this yummy creamy dish. If you normally don't like rice much, serve this dish along with rice and see it vanishing away in a jiffy.

1 table spoon oil, 2 bay leaves/ tej patta, 2 medium size potatoes cut into cubes, 3 cups green pea, a pinch of turmeric powder, 4 cups milk, 1 kg cottage cheese, cut into 1 inch cubes
1. Heat oil in a pan.
2. Add bay leaves and fry till golden brown.
3. Add Potatoes, green peas and turmeric and fry for sometime.
4. Add milk and simmer till it thickens.
5. Add paneer.
Mix well and serve with hot steaming rice.
