It is a traditional sweet dish from the Indian subcontinent and it is a must-have delight for festive occasions in Pakistan. It is a quick and easy recipe to cook as a one-pot meal. The superb aroma of the Basmati rice, the sweetness of jaggery and the tanginess of lemon juice will entice you to the core.

Contents
1 cup basmati rice, ¾ cup jaggery, 1 tbsp oil, 1 tbsp raisins, 1 tbsp of lemon juice, 2 tbsp roasted peanuts, 2 cups water
1. Wash and soak the rice for 15 mins.
2. Bring water to boil in a pot and stir in the rice and reduce heat, cover and simmer until the rice is cooked.
3. Add the Jaggery to the cooked rice and stir well and remove from the flame.
4. Fry the raisins and the roasted peanuts in the oil and add to the cooked rice and finally add the lemon juice.
Mix well with almonds and cashews topped.
