Are you looking for a crunchy and healthy snack? Then you don't have to go beyond this yummy one! Lotus seeds or phool makana is considered a super healthy snack as it has antioxidants, which reverse the adverse effects of free radicals in the body. It is also a good source of magnesium, potassium, and phosphorus, and low in cholesterol, sodium and saturated fats. This is a perfect snack.

100 grams phool Makana, a pinch of Turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon oil, salt to taste, pepper to taste
1. In a bowl, combine melted ghee, salt and pepper.
2. Phool makana doesn’t come roasted when you buy in the market. In a heavy bottom pan, dry roast the makana . This will take some time around 8 to 10 minutes as makana has to be roasted evenly.
3. Once roasted, combine the melted ghee, salt and pepper with the seeds and continue roasting for some more time till seeds are evenly coated with the salt and pepper. You will know it is roasted well if it is crunchy in the mouth . Switch off and allow to cool completely.
4. Store in an air tight container.
Serve this healthy snack! It is a healthier option compared to chips and other fried snacks.
