At this stage, you need a variety of healthy yet tasty foods to satisfy the palate. This Unniappam recipe is the perfect snack as it is made from bananas, which are loaded with nutrients like potassium and vitamins.

2 cups rice, 2 bananas, 1 cup jaggery, 5 cardamoms, ½ tsp baking soda, 1 tsp cumin seeds, 1/4 cup chopped coconut, 1 tsp ghee, ½ cup oil
1. Grind the sugar, cardamom and plantain well, and add rice to it. Mix into a batter. Add baking soda and set aside.
2. Fry coconut pieces and jeera in ghee, and add to the mixture.
3. Heat oil. Drop spoonfuls of batter in and fry till golden on one side. Flip over and cook for another minute. Serve hot.
