An exotic Mughlai dish, made using paneer, which is rich in protein and a mix of spices, which have essential vitamin and minerals. This side dish goes excellent with chapattis.

5-8 paneer cubes, 1 onion, 2 tomatoes, , ¼ tsp turmeric, 1 tsp red chilli powder, ½ tsp cumin powder, ½ tsp coriander powder, ¼ tsp black pepper powder, ¼ tsp garam masala powder, 1 tbsp cream, 1 tsp butter, 1 tsp oil, 1 /4th piece of cinnamon, 2-3 green cardamoms, ¼ cup water(optional)
1. In a pan, add half tsp butter. Once warm, add the paneer cubes and saute for 3-4 minutes or till slight golden brown. Remove and keep in a plate.
2. Grind the onion and tomatoes.
3. In the same pan, add the remaining butter. Add the cinnamon and cardamoms. Once they emit an aroma, add the onion tomato paste. Saute for 2 minutes on medium flame.
4. Add all the spices except garam masala and cook the gravy very well. Add the salt too. This can take about 10 minutes and you need to keep stirring in between.
5. Finally, add the paneer cubes, garam masala and cream. Mix well till the paneer cubes are coated with the gravy. If required, you can add little water to adjust the thickness of the gravy.
Delicious Veg Musallam is ready to relish with Chapattis or Jeera Rice.
